BIRTH CONTROL

At the Sidney Borum Health Center we provide extensive counseling about all types of birth control and we can help you find the option that is right for you. Make an appointment with our family planning and birth control counselor at 617-457-8140 in the afternoons on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

By discussing your personal preferences, health history, and lifestyle, we can help you choose from all of the different options available today. Counseling and support is provided for those using condoms, spermicides, the Today sponge, Cycle Beads, and we provide teaching around fertility awareness both for people trying to avoid a pregnancy or become pregnant.

We provide:

• Birth control pills
• Depo-Provera (3 month injection)
• OrthoEvra Patch (weekly skin patch)
• Emergency contraception
• We provide referrals for patients interested in other methods including the IUD, diaphragm, cervical cap (FemCap and Leah’s Shield), Implanon, and surgical sterilization. We can also provide prescriptions for all forms of birth control including the NuvaRing.
• Free condoms are always available to all of our patients.

If you’re worried about your ability to afford birth control, talk to your provider. The Borum can help patients who are uninsured or have difficulty paying for their birth control.
